School Staff
Administration
Caley Baker is the Principal of the Central College Christian School K-5 Program. With 18 years of experience in education, she is passionate about creating a Christ-centered learning environment where students are known, challenged, and inspired to grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
Caley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Social Studies and a Master of Education in Social Studies Education from The Ohio State University. She later completed a second Master of Education in Educational Administration from Ohio Dominican University and earned a Gifted Education endorsement from the University of Cincinnati.
Her career began with Westerville City Schools, where she taught for 10 years before serving as an educational technology coach, the district gifted coordinator, and the principal of Hanby Elementary. She has also taught graduate-level courses in gifted education as an adjunct instructor at Ashland University.
As a lifelong member of Central College Presbyterian Church, Caley is honored to lead the Central College Christian School community. She is committed to continuing the mission of making the Kingdom of God visible, partnering with families and staff to cultivate a joyful, nurturing environment where every child can flourish and where the love of Christ is evident in both learning and service.
Howard Baum – EdChoice Administrator
Howard earned both his B.S. and M.A. from The Ohio State University. He served as an elementary teacher and principal for 35 years and later worked
with adults with developmental disabilities. Now at CCCS, he feels called to serve children once again in his home church.
He enjoys woodworking and DIY home projects.
Kindergarten
Bethany Storts – Kindergarten Teacher Ms. Storts has a Bachelor's in Early Education and is licensed PreK–3. After starting her career teaching 4th/5th grade, she transitioned to kindergarten and has found her passion. A CCCS alum, she treasures teaching where her own education began. Bethany enjoys reading, DIY projects, time with her family and dogs, and participating in school events—especially chapel.
Amie Whalen – Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Whalen earned a BSE and holds PreK–3 licensure in both general and intervention education. With several years in intervention roles, she now shares her passion for faith and teaching in her third year at CCCS. Deeply connected to the school through her family's legacy, Amie loves spending time with her husband and sons, shopping, coffee, the zoo, and her pets.
Ashley O'Brien – Kindergarten Aide Mrs. O'Brien brings experience from working in preschools and a heart for serving young learners. A proud CCCS alum (1999–2003), she is excited to return and share the love of Jesus with the next generation. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, William, and their two dogs, Dash and Daisy. She also loves to travel.
Ashley Noble – Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Noble earned her Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University and brings experience as a childcare director, teacher, and administrative assistant. She loves the kind and faith-filled environment at CCCS, where she can share God’s love through education. She enjoys time with her two boys, visiting the Columbus Zoo, and serving in her church.
Megan Butler – Kindergarten Aide Mrs. Butler holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with licensure in PreK–3. She has years of experience with Head Start and special needs preschool programs. She loves the genuine care at CCCS and hearing God’s love in chapel. In her free time, she enjoys arts and crafts, exploring new places, and time with her dog, Junie B.
Mélia Murray – Kindergarten Aide Mélia holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Miami University and previously held an Indiana teaching license. With experience as a high school choral and junior high band director, she also served as a preschool teacher in Westerville. As a parent and educator, Mélia values the faith-filled, family-oriented environment at CCCS and is thankful to be part of a school that nurtures both academic and spiritual growth. She loves reading, sewing and crocheting bags, and spending time with her family.
1st Grade
Abbie Abendroth – 1st Grade Teacher - Abbie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She brings international teaching experience from Thailand and has taught various grade levels locally as well. Abbie’s heart is to combine quality education with sharing the love of Jesus in an environment where students thrive in every aspect of life. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, gaming, hiking, spending time with loved ones, and traveling.
Grace Wampler – 1st Grade Teacher - Grace holds a degree in Primary Education from The Ohio State University and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Technology and Curriculum Design from Western Governors University. She is passionate about shaping young learners in all areas of development and helping them build a strong spiritual foundation. Grace is honored to be part of Central College Christian School’s mission to provide a high-quality education—both academically and spiritually. In her free time, she enjoys worship music, hiking, and reading.
2nd Grade
Jen Kovach – 2nd Grade Teacher - Mrs. Kovach has an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction and a BA in Early Childhood Education. A certified educator since 2003, she has taught across multiple states and held roles from teacher to success coach. She chose CCCS to help students grow in faith and values. She lives in Westerville with her husband and two daughters, enjoys serving at her church, and loves Lake Erie, gardening, and walking her dog, Scout.
Natalie Loeffler – 2nd Grade Teacher - Mrs. Loeffler holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Professional Teaching License. With years of experience as a substitute teacher across NJ, PA, and OH, and time spent as a reading and math tutor, she’s now in her third year teaching 2nd grade at CCCS. She loves teaching in a place where she can share God’s love and help students grow in faith. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Shanna Banks - Classroom Aide - Shanna Banks serves as the welcoming face of CCCS, creating a positive first impression for students, families, and staff alike. Although her professional background is not in education, she brings a heart for service and a love for the school community. Shanna is grateful to work alongside such a pleasant and dedicated staff. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with the Lord, reading, listening to music, and expressing her creativity through cake art.
Rain Jones - Classroom Aide
3rd Grade
Christine Jajack – 3rd Grade Teacher - Mrs. Jajack holds a Bachelor's in Education (PK-3) and a Master's in Reading, along with a K-12 Reading Endorsement. She has been a dedicated teacher at CCCS since 2007. She loves the school’s Christian atmosphere and close-knit community. Christine enjoys reading, traveling, walking, and spending time with loved ones.
Michelle Hickok – 3rd Grade Teacher -Michelle holds a B.A. and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with endorsements in early childhood and reading. Her experience includes teaching kindergarten and first grade, and serving as a reading specialist. She finds great joy in supporting both academic and faith growth in her students. Michelle enjoys reading, hiking, kayaking, and family time.
4th Grade
Andrew Shreve – 4th Grade Teacher - Mr. Shreve holds a Bachelor's in Education with licensure in Early Childhood and as an Intervention Specialist. Before joining CCCS, he worked as an Intervention Specialist with the ESC. He was drawn to CCCS for a new challenge and the chance to teach in an elementary classroom. In his free time, Mr. Shreve enjoys reading, sports (as an umpire and football referee), puzzles, trivia, and music.
Melita Risdon - 4th Grade Teacher - Mrs. Risdon earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University and holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Otterbein University along with a Professional Teaching License. With nearly 30 years of experience in early education, she is grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others through education, compassion and faith. Outside the classroom she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
5th Grade
Khadine Byers – 5th Grade Teacher - Khadine holds a Bachelor of Science and a Professional Elementary License. Her diverse experience spans first through fifth grade across multiple schools, with 14 years at CCCS. She values the deep commitment to both academics and faith found at CCCS. Khadine enjoys gardening, sports, baking, and time with family.
Intervention
Misha Dimas - Intervention Specialist Paraprofessional Misha Banks came to Central College Christian School after previously working as a Behavioral Specialist at St. Vincent Family Center and Sonshine Christian Academy. She worked with children ages ranging from three to 13 years old, to help with various behavioral disabilities. Banks also attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University and received a BA in Psychology.
Becky Sayre – Intervention Specialist - Becky Sayre holds a B.A. in Psychology and is licensed in PreK–12 Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Intensive Intervention. She shares, “The Lord definitely led me here. I love the tight-knit community of teachers and staff and the support we have as a team. The students can see that, I think, and it just makes this a great school.” Becky enjoys reading, drinking coffee, and walking her dog, Sunny.
Zach Robertson - Intervention Specialist - Zach Robertson holds a BA in Secondary Education, Social Studies, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction and is licensed to teach K-12 Mild/Moderate Intervention. His experience includes roles as a teacher, coach, and author. Zach and his wife Sarah reside in Westerville and enjoy spending time with friends, family, and their two cats, Ripley and Daisy.
Genny Lutz – Reading Tutor - Genny Lutz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and is a Certified Academic Language Practitioner in Orton-Gillingham. She is licensed in Mild to Moderate Special Education and previously served as an Intervention Specialist and Reading Specialist at St. Matthew School in Gahanna, OH. Genny is grateful for the opportunity to teach in a faith-centered institution while using best practices in reading intervention. In her free time, she enjoys reading (of course!) and beekeeping.
Specialists
Mackenzie Siens – 1st–5th Grade Science Teacher Mackenzie holds a Bachelor's in Early and Middle Childhood Studies (OSU) and a Master's in Education (MVNU). She previously served as an educator for COSI On Wheels and as a camp counselor for 10 years. She loves sharing the wonders of science while also celebrating God's creation. Mackenzie enjoys outdoor adventures, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
K-5 Librarian and Extended Care specialist Mary Walsh oversees multiple roles at Central College Christian School, including the day-to-day duties within the Library and its extensive catalog of books and reference material used within the school curriculum.
Tim Barker – Muscles Preschool Academy Gym Mr. Barker holds a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Physical Education, with K–12 PE licensure. His diverse experience includes roles as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and in missions and special needs. He values seeing God's grace in action at CCCS. He enjoys anything involving God, family, friends, and sports.
Savannah Robinson – Music Teacher Savannah earned her Bachelor’s in Music Education with Performance Honors from Ohio University, along with a minor in Instrumental Conducting. She has taught private piano lessons and completed a teaching internship in a PreK–5 general music class. Passionate about both music and faith, Savannah is excited to help students grow musically and spiritually at CCCS. She believes music is not only fun but also a vital part of worship. Savannah enjoys playing the piano, exploring new restaurants, and playing pickleball with her family.
Jessica Saxton - K-5 Art Teacher - Jessica Saxton – Art Teacher Jessica Saxton will be starting her sixteenth year of teaching and is excited to now be among the CCCS teaching staff. She graduated from Southern Oregon University with a BA in Art and worked as a graphic designer before finding her love of teaching art. She earned her licensure for k-12 and has taught in various settings, including her own studio. Outside of teaching, Jessica is a professional photographer and enjoys yoga and dance.
Emma Claypool – Spanish Teacher - Emma Claypool is a first-year Spanish teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Education and a minor in Sports Management from Ohio University. Her passion for language learning grew during a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain, and continued through an internship in a Spanish classroom. She also coaches high school cheerleading and is in the process of earning her pilot’s license. When she’s not teaching or coaching, Emma loves traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her friends and family.
Support Staff
Joyce Storts – Office Manager Mrs. Storts earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from West Virginia University and worked for 10 years at Gahanna Christian. With a personal connection to CCCS through her daughters, she is passionate about the school community. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, spending time with family and friends, and caring for her dogs.
Phil Hughey - Technology Support Phil Hughey supports technology at CCCS, bringing 17 years in telecommunications and over a decade in educational tech. He’s inspired by the school’s spirit of service and feels blessed to be part of its mission. In his free time, Phil enjoys walks with his wife, caring for their cats and plants, and working on projects in his shop.
Maureen is a seasoned Para-Professional with over 30 years of experience in school financial services, including roles at St. Matthew Catholic School and Gahanna Christian Academy. Now working with CCCS, she supports nonpublic schools through her work with auxiliary funds. Maureen is passionate about CCCS’s mission to introduce children to Jesus while delivering excellent academics. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her husband and caring for their two senior cats. She also enjoys gardening and caring for her plants.
William O’Brien – Front Desk Administrative Assistant -William O’Brien began his journey at CCCS as a Kindergarten Aide, later serving as a First Grade Aide, and now serves as our Front Desk Administrative Assistant. He also helps lead worship during Wednesday chapel and values being part of a school community where Christ is at the center of all we do. Outside of school, William enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, his daughter, Eloise, and their two dogs, Dash and Daisy. He is active in local theatre, sings with the Gahanna Community Choir, and, of course, has a HAND in just about everything involving CCCS’s unofficial mascot, Jasper!
Jasper serves as CCCS’s unofficial mascot, bringing plenty of smiles, curiosity, and PAWsome fun to our school community. He loves popping up at school events, joining in on special projects, and heading out on new adventures with his PAWventure Cam. Along the way, Jasper loves learning new things and sharing what he discovers with his FURiends. Most of all, he loves being part of the CCCS family and encouraging students to be kind, curious, and ready for their next adventure!
